Horseshoe Bend and Antelope Canyon

What a day! Tackled two absolutely stunning sites on our way to Bryce Canyon. While staying in Page Arizona we took a guided tour into upper Antelope Canyon. There are several slot canyons all owned by Native American families that offer tours. We booked a tour with Antelope  Canyon X Tours and luckily got an amazing guide by the name of Gabriel. He was the son of the owner and was called in at the last minute because the regular house didn’t show up. He was a Junior in college and home on winter break; only gets 5 days off because he plays division one basketball! You could tell he grew up wandering and playing in the canyons. His pain and respect for his land came out as he talked about the canyons and demonstrated how they were formed.

Our next stop was Horseshoe Bend, an easy 1.5 miles stroll down to an amazing bend in the Colorado river where the Grand Canyon originates from. We had fun scrambling around on the rocks and cliffs above this natural wonder.
